The German Society of Pennsylvania & Philly Roller Derby present the legendary lager-centric event we’ve all come to know and love!

Philly Bierfest 2026 will be the 13th annual iteration of this utterly unique midwinter beer festival. Benefiting three nonprofits – the German Society of Pennsylvania, Philly Roller Derby, and the Brewers of Pennsylvania, Bierfest is designed to showcase this state’s leadership in brewing German-style beers and to revel in its richness of its German-American culture.

Come visit with PA’s leading brewers of Lagers, Kölsches, Bocks and Weizens, and sample a diverse array of imports from Germany as you learn more about why PA leads the nation in German-style brewing. Explore six floors of themed spaces in our incredible historic buildings and cool off at our winter biergarten as you indulge in Bierfest’s unparalleled array of engaging entertainments, delicious food options and oodles of fun and games.

Taste Local Lagers, Weizens & Bocks in the PA Beer Hall

The PA Beer Hall honors our state’s extensive cultural ties to Germany by showcasing a delicious range of German-style beers from over 20 Pennsylvania breweries. At Bierfest, you won’t simply sample Pilsners and Lagers, but Dunkels and Weizens, Kölsches and Altbiers, Maibocks and Doppelbocks, Schwarzbiers and Rauchbiers, plus Zwickels and Zoigls and Goses! Oh My!

Entertainment, music, food & fun

Bierfest has it all: Roller-Derby Arm-Wrestling! Berlin-Style BEERlesque [PG-13]! Live Philbilly music by T.C. Cole and his crew, plus Polkadelphia’s oompah-funk! Sign up for Brauhaus Schmitz’s Beer-Jello Masskrugstemmen or stomp along with our traditional Bavarian-style Schuhplattler Dancers. VIPs get early access and a keepsake mug, while the VIP PLUS package also includes a guided beer tasting led by Philly’s top drinks author and the mind behind Bierfest: Marnie Old.

Savor the rainbow of flavors possible using only malt, hops, yeast and water in accordance with Germany’s famed ‘Reinheitsgebot’ beer purity law. Taste over 20 beer brands that hail from Germany (and other German-speaking zones of Europe) upstairs in our wildly popular German Beer Hall.

Bierfest is jointly hosted by the ferocious athletes of Philly Roller Derby, who are proudly pouring to raise funds for their operations, and the German Society of Pennsylvania, the nation’s oldest German-American cultural organization founded in 1762. Proceeds from Bierfest also benefit the Brewers of Pennsylvania, a trade advocacy group working to empower PA brewers and serve the interests of PA beer lovers.
